The eNotes Blog Rolling in the Big Bucks! (Just Kidding) A Snapshot of AcademicSalaries
Overflowing with the Big Bucks! (Simply Kidding) A Snapshot of AcademicSalaries In the course of recent months, there has been a lot of discussion about how educators make a hell of a ton of cash. I read and tuned in to a few of these reports as I trusted that the water will bubble for my ramen noodles. This week, the Chronicle of Higher Education discharged information demonstrating the normal pay rates of educators from several scholastic establishments the country over from tenured profs at private organizations that award doctoral degrees, to subordinates who instruct at junior colleges. Of course, private colleges like Harvard, Columbia, and Princeton offered the most lucrative positions, averaging a decent $190k or so every year. Teachers at the top degrees of state funded colleges procure about a third not exactly their private partners. Obviously, these positions are rare. Most educators work in lower layered schools. The normal for these universities ranges from about $87k for a tenured teacher to around $40k for an educator of no position (aides). While the most lucrative schools unquestionably give a decent living to their educators, even they fall far underneath what those people may be winning in the non-scholastic world. Truth be told, that is likely valid for a scholarly on any bar of the instructing stepping stool. Where does your school fall in the pay extend? Peruse the full report here. On the off chance that you are thinking about instructing, does this data adjust your perspective by any stretch of the imagination? While the facts confirm that nobody goes into educating for the cash, the fact of the matter is very educational, no doubt.

Similarities in Avalanches and the Government - 1088 Words
It is hard to walk down the side of a street without either seeing a newspaper hearing a radio commentator talking about the most recent national disaster or the newest countries now at war or assisting the war efforts of others. Governments around the world are working 24/7 to protect their ideals at any expense. If foreign governments threaten each other, they go to war. If any aspect of society threatens a government, a regulation or law is soon passed to correct the problem. As communication all over the world increases, and more important choices are made per day than any other time in history, governments all over the world have grown in power in an attempt to monitor these interactions and keep their ideals and power intact. Thisâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Like todayââ¬â¢s politics also, the snowflake isnââ¬â¢t going to come out of the avalanche and take responsibility for the destruction it started. The obvious difference between American politics and an avalanche is that governments are made of people capable of intelligent thought, instead of a mindless mass of snow. In some ways this makes modern governments even more dangerous. A mass of snow only has a single purpose, toppling trees and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Modern politics, however, can adapt. The human element of politics allows for ingenuity in overcoming obstacles as well as brute force. Ingenuity and problem solving have solved, or aided in the resolution of, harms such as sickness, military invasion, and natural disasters. Human thinking has allowed for developments in science, medicine, and education. It has also helped create nuclear weapons, guns, and corporations that eat up Earthââ¬â¢s resources at an astounding rate. The human element of politics makes it more powerful and resourceful, but it makes it that much more dangerous. Like an avalanche, people know what a government is capable of and habitually live in fear of it. The Day of Pink as a Transformative Event-Free-Sample for Students
Question: Choose a transformative event. You can not choose the example of theNishyuu Walkers. There are many historical and current events about transformative change within a culture. Answer: The Day of Pink as a transformative event Transformative events are events that are implemented or started to change an existing situation or taboo. One such event is The Day of Pink which is one of the biggest transformative events that has impacted millions of lives around the world. It was initiated to prohibit bullying of any kind and especially to prevent homophobia, transmisogyny and transphobia. It is also true that April 11, 2018, the International Day of Pink is celebrated all over the world and has positively impacted people all over the world. It helped address an issue that was long not talked about and needed voicing (Jong, 2015), helped reduce negativity and impacted lives of several young people across Canada as well as other countries of the world. As a matter of fact, it has helped reduce diseases related to mental illness and disabilities. The most important concern which measured the success of this event was the impact it created on youth. Statistics claim that around 21 countries and millions of people around the world endorse this event from the year 2018 (Parker et al., 2014). It instigated schools in Canada to adopt policies to prevent bullying. It has provided a platform for students and kids to speak up about their problems that they face. Special classes are allotted to impart knowledge and make students aware of how important it is to respect fellow mates and make them aware about the consequences of bullying from a very young age. It has also helped students that suffered from bullying become open minded and helped them to talk about their experiences without feeling ashamed or guilty of either their experiences or sexual orientation. The impact on transgender of Canada has also been beneficial and allowed them to respect themselves and accept being different. As a matter of fact, UNICEF in Canada has taken up measures along with the government to spread awareness about the importance of empathy and kindness. The event has created an impact strong enough to attract the attention of the governments (Maikey Stelder, 2015). In the province of Alberta and the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador the government is taking up initiatives to make the citizens aware of the same. In Newfoundland and Labrador, the government has provided around $20,000 to almost 38 schools in order to recognize and appreciate their efforts towards a safe learning environment. The government ministers in Alberta including education minister, David Eggen and social services minister, Irfan Sabir themselves are increasingly participating in events on Day of Pink to promote the fight against bullying. In fact, teachers and all other kinds of staff at school were educated about the importance of this day through government workshops and conferences and on this day even these professionals wore pink along with the students to show the importance of the day. Another way in which the International Day of Pink turned out be a success is the lesser known impact that it has created on women especially in the engineering sector in Canada. It has led to greater participation of women workforce in engineering firms in Canada (Jong, 2015). Apart from this, other taboos that existed in the engineering sector like stereotyping the workplace culture or forming the orientation of an individual as the basis to promotions in this sector have increasingly changed for the better. Better health and safety standards have been implemented and mental health is given as much importance as physical health now. Diversity of workforce and helping people who have migrated to this country gain skills and work in this sector are also being highly sought after the celebration of Day of Pink was officially taken up by the engineers in Canada. Even though the Day of Pink has led to led to reduction of bullying in schools and has led to better mental health conditions, data from Mental Health Commission of Canada, predict that even though the rate of bullying has reduced, bullying still exists (Knaak, Modgill, Patten, 2014). The form of bullying has only changed and has shifted more to the use of social media and phones. It has been reported that by the time an individual reaches the age of 25 years, in 20% cases, he develops mental illness out of the past bullying experiences that he must have faced in his childhood. Even though the government has shifted and focused its attention on the aspects and impacts of bullying, it was already too late before these measures were taken and so even though the younger generation are blessed with the opportunities of being treated equally, the generation that has already passed through the negativism with respect to bullying are suffering even now. Unfortunately, the section of population associated with remedies and cures and awareness is way lesser than the section that has been severely impacted. This section of population in Canada accounts for the majority of the convicts in the country who are associated with crime and mental instability. It has been reported that even though the government is trying to reduce this harm, through programs at school, the mental health and awareness among parents and children born with disabilities is also important (Knaak, Modgill, Patten, 2014). This is so because mental health of parents categorically creates impact on their children in spite of programs held at school and children growing up with disabilities have either higher chances of getting bullied or themselves turning into bullies. To conclude, it can be said that Day of Pink has been able to drive the world towards a better future and is slowly becoming an important day that is being celebrated and will be celebrated for the years to come. Even though cases of bullying are still reported, Day of Pink has had its own path of success and helped reduce the rates of bullying and school. It has managed to capture the attention of the government and to inculcate better values in children. Discrimination of any kind is not socially acceptable as it spreads negativism and should eventually be prohibited in all countries around the world. International Pink Day is an initiative that is helping in its own way to contribute to this activity and help reduce discrimination on the basis of social stigmas. References: de Jong, D. (2015). Barbary Lion Facts and Figures
Barbary Lion Facts and Figures Name: Barbary Lion; also known as Panthera leo leo, the Atlas Lion and the Nubian Lion Habitat: Plains of northern Africa Historical Epoch: Late Pleistocene-Modern (500,000-100 years ago) Size and Weight: Up to seven feet long and 500 pounds Diet: Meat Distinguishing Characteristics: Large size; thick mane and fur About the Barbary Lion Tracking the evolutionary relationships of the various subspecies of modern lion (Panthera leo) can be a tricky affair. As far as paleontologists can tell, the Barbary Lion (Panthera leo leo) evolved from a population of European Lions (Panthera leo europaea), which themselves descended from Asiatic Lions (Panthera leo persica), which are still extant, albeit in dwindling numbers, in modern-day India. Whatever its ultimate heritage, the Barbary Lion shares one dubious honor with most lion subspecies, having been wiped off the face of the earth by human encroachment and the dwindling of its once-expansive habitat. Like many other recently extinct mammals, the Barbary Lion has a distinctive historical pedigree. Medieval Britons had an especial fondness for this big cat; during the Middle Ages, Barbary Lions were kept in the menagerie at the Tower of London, and these big-maned beasts were star attractions at swanky British hotels. In the latter part of the 19th century, while the species was being hunted to extinction in northern Africa, Britains surviving Barbary Lions were transferred to zoos. In northern Africa, even in historical times, Barbary Lions were prized gifts, sometimes being offered in lieu of taxes to the ruling families of Morocco and Ethiopia. Today, in captivity, a few surviving lion subspecies harbor remnants of Barbary Lion genes, so it may yet be possible to selectively breed this big cat and reintroduce it into the wild, a program known as de-extinction. For example, researchers with the International Barbary Lion Project plan to recover DNA sequences from various mounted Barbary Lion specimens in natural history museums, and then compare these sequences with the DNA of living zoo lions, in order to see how much Barbary. so to speak, remains in these felines. Males and females with a high percentage of Barbary Lion DNA would then be selectively mated, as well as their descendants on down the lion, the ultimate goal being the birth of a Barbary Lion cub!

Emperor Xiaowen and His Court
Emperor Xiaowen and His Court The mural ââ¬ËEmperor Xiaowen and His Courtââ¬â¢ depicts a walking-procession (presumably a religious one) that involves at least twenty members of the Emperorââ¬â¢s entourage. The Emperor himself heads the procession. He appears to be intending to dip his fingers in the cup filled with water (?), which is being held in front of him by one of his servants.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Emperor Xiaowen and His Court specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The Emperorââ¬â¢s facial expression radiates calmness, which sets him visually apart from the rest of the entourageââ¬â¢s members that seem to be experiencing an array of different but predominantly positive emotions. The artist went about emphasizing the Emperorââ¬â¢s royal status by the mean of having him slightly elevated above others, within the compositionââ¬â¢s spatial framework. The fact that the processionââ¬â¢s participants are being depic ted wearing richly decorated garments, and the fact that due to these garmentsââ¬â¢ sheer length they can be hardly considered the items intended for an everyday use, we can assume that the portrayed event is indeed rather extraordinary. What adds to the muralââ¬â¢s aesthetic value is that the author succeeded in accentuating the depicted eventââ¬â¢s transitional subtleties (viewers do perceive it as such that is being in the state of motion). As it was already mentioned, the mural ââ¬ËEmperor Xiaowen and His Courtââ¬â¢ is carved in the limestone rock. What it means is that at the time of its making (522-523), the Chinese already possessed the knowledge of metallurgy, which in turn allowed them to make carving-chisels out of iron. Because limestone is particularly prone to the forces of erosion, the state of the muralââ¬â¢s preservation suggests that, apart from knowing how to carve depictions in stone, the ancient Chinese artists also knew how to lessen the extent of the produced artifactsââ¬â¢ susceptibility to the elements of nature. Another technical aspect of the mural in question is that the applied polishing appears being of a supreme quality. Given the fact that this polishing needed to be applied manually (by hand), we can well assume that there were a number of people involved in the process. In its turn, this serves as yet another indication that there is much of not only technological but also logistic complexity to the discussed mural. Such our assumption correlates rather well with what historians know about the developmental phases of the Chinese ancient civilization.[1] There can be a few doubts, as to the fact that the carved mural ââ¬ËEmperor Xiaowen and His Courtââ¬â¢ was meant to commemorate the Emperor and the members of his court, as such that never ceased being observant of the early Buddhismââ¬â¢s ritualistic provisions.[2]Advertising Looking for essay on art? Moreover, because the author made a deliberate point in accentuating the Emperorââ¬â¢s ââ¬ËBuddhistââ¬â¢ looks (hence, his apparent calmness), there is a certain rationale in the assumption that the mural was supposed to serve as an additional proof that the Emperor is in fact radiates the spirit of a true divinity. Therefore, we can say that the muralââ¬â¢s foremost social function was concerned with its potential ability to legitimize the Emperorââ¬â¢s authority in the eyes of onlookers. What it means is that, along with referring to the mural ââ¬ËEmperor Xiaowen and His Courtââ¬â¢ in terms of art, we can also refer to as the art-related tool of an ideological indoctrination. Chinese Women in late 19th century and early 20th century Essay
Chinese Women in late 19th century and early 20th century - Essay Example The subsequent changes during the late 19th century and early 20th century are perfectly elaborated by Kay Ann Johnson in her book Women, the Family and Peasant Revolution, where she has enlightened the various topics like the traditional Confucian marriage culture and the family crisis of 1920. Johnson talks about the pre revolutionary stage and post revolutionary stage and goes on explaining the role of women in terms of labor.1 She elaborates about the family crisis of 20th century and the family reform in order to acquire the proper family. But in order to get this task executed and to support the family reform, more over through the inspiration offered by Chinese communist Party during revolution. Women started working in various fields so that they can earn as well as save their earnings and thus help in increasing the socio economic status of the family through their contribution. As in once the females start working they will start earning wages and, the socio economic status or power dynamics within the family would automatically elevated to the next level. During the revolutionary period as mentioned above, revolutionary forces accosted a traditional family system which was already criticized, to resolve the issues related with the family reformation. But it was not easy for all the people to cope-up with the situation as the Confucian system was signifying the disintegration and thus was under pres sure. There were many factors causing the variations in family reformation including psychological, economical, intellectual powers which always characterized the downfall of dynasties. But for poor rural women of china the early 20th century crisis bought inexplicit effects for family reform. As a result of this crisis the women were forced to lose their traditional role in society. Thus an increase in poverty and migration was recorded. Hence the women were force to join any industry. In order to fight this family crisis, Chinese came up with an idea of implementing small cooperatives at all villages. The main aim of such cooperatives was to increase the women's active participation in the production so that they can support the economy. The most common tasks were related to handicraft and textile industry which included sewing, weaving and spinning. The reason behind selecting these tasks was that these were practiced traditionally in some parts at home earlier. But some handicra ft work was hampered in recent generations due to the introduction of more efficient, modern and foreign industry. But the women who had retained those handicraft skills were encouraged to provide training to other women in small groups. Hence many women got involved in household production. Moreover women got indulged in manufacturing uniforms, blankets, shoes and socks for red army. 2 Situation Forced Women Into Production One more major reason behind the Chinese women getting involved in production was that the young boys and men were recruited for the army by revolutionaries, moreover by Chinese Communist party. Johnson raised the question against the role of Chinese communist party in fighting for the rights of Chinese women. Johnson states that the Chinese communist party has fought actively in order to accomplish the changes that were vital for its continued survival such as the party encouraged

Essential question #4 - Assignment Example Secondly, assessment also provides a continual feedback in how the students are able to actively retrieve information to facilitate learning that is long lasting. Standardized assessments are therefore necessary because they make students develop performance related goals. As the students get assessed, they are able to get motivated by their earned grades, the rankings as well as intrinsic rewards that result from assessment. These assessments deepen the studentsââ¬â¢ memory for the assessed materials. As such it enables better performance of students. Additionally, assessment provides the students with significant challenge which makes them work harder to improve their learning as well as playing to a studentââ¬â¢s strength. According to Shaw, (2014) when a school is said to be doing well, the following is implied: the students are gaining new levels of understanding each time. ââ¬Å"The hope is to help students gain expertise much like musicians improve with repeated guided practiceâ⬠, John Bransford. Thus students expertise can be measured and progress shown. Secondly the students are buying in on what they are instructed. As such they are gaining knowledge. ââ¬Å"The greater understanding, is so much more enriching than having a lecture and regurgitating information.â⬠Sandomirsky. This implies that there is increased understanding of the curriculum and as such the students are getting gainful knowledge. Eisner, (2012) outlines; A school is thus said to be doing well when they ensure accountability as well as be flexible so that it leaves no child behind in the learning process. Additionally the school needs to have a rationalized approach dependent on easily quantifiable standards. Thus the purpose of a school assessment can be understood in various levels as follows: formative assessment will enable the teachers know how the students learn best. As such ideas are

Nursing Expertise Self-Report Scale Essay Example for Free
Nursing Expertise Self-Report Scale Essay I think that it is important to understand where you are in your nursing practice. After completing the Nursing Expertise Self-Report Scale, I realize that I still have a lot more experience to gain as a nurse. I believe that nurses must be life-long learners to stay current in the ever-changing field of healthcare. I have only been a nurse for two years. Before beginning the test, I thought that with my few years of experience, I would be a novice nurse. However, I am a competent nurse. According to Arnold and Boggs (2011) the competent nurse ââ¬Å"views the clinical picture from a broader perspective and is more confident about his or her role in health careâ⬠(p. 127). I have been organized and able to manage my time successfully. I feel that I can consciously make decisions without direct supervision. I can assess the patient and look at all the variables before proceeding with care. I can think more long term now than I did in the beginning. I feel that in order to improve my communication skills in the healthcare setting, I have to continue to think more long-term. I need to stop being so task-oriented and start looking at the patient as a whole. Instead of doing something just because itââ¬â¢s ordered, I need to be diligent and make sure it is appropriate for my patientââ¬â¢s specific condition. I realize how important it is to be able to communicate with the physicians. We are with the patients much more than they are, and we are their eyes and ears. I feel that it is also vital to have good communication with the patients and their families. They depend on us to be honest in all that we do. When the patient trusts us, they will be more open with us. My facility does bedside shift report. I think this is important because it gives the oncoming nurse the chance to understand what the patient is going to need for the next 12 hours. It also gives the patient the opportunity to become involved in their care. As nurses, we are always communicating so it isà important to make sure that we do it correctly and efficiently. Ivy Rowes Ideas of the Past in Fair and Tender Ladies Essay -- Englis
Ivy Rowe's Ideas of the Past in Fair and Tender Ladies In Lee Smith's Fair and Tender Ladies, Ivy Rowe has a constant attachment to her past. This attachment is one of the main themes in the novel. It is one of her main reasons for letter writing and why she does some of the things that she does, because she does not want to lose her grip on her past. Ivy Rowe, in Lee Smith's Fair and Tender Ladies, uses letter writing to keep a hold of her grip on the past and where she came from. In Letters from Sugar Fork, Ivy writes for a number of reasons. She wants to see how and what other people are doing, wanting to improve her writing skills, asking for help from her grandfather at one point, in addition to just having some way to release all her thoughts and emotions. These letters, being a window into her mind, show us the progression of her as she grows. There is one letter in particular, which shows how important this correspondence is to her. "I hate you, you do not write back nor be my Pen Friend I think you are the Ice Queen instead. I do not have a Pen Friend or any friend in the world, I have only Silvaney who laghs and laghs and Beulah who is mad now all the time and Ethel who calls a spade a spadeà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã ¦I will not send this letter as I remain your hateful, Ivy Rowe."(Smith, 17) This letter shows just how important letter writing is to Ivy. As she is not able to receive correspondence from Hanneke she cannot fully express herself and has a hard time with her anger, as is evidence by the excerpt from her letter. Ivy also writes to Mrs. Brown about her experiences in Sugar Fork. She talks about how she shot a gun and is able to paint a vivid picture of the winter season. "Ice just shining on each and e... ...her last letter defines her life when she says "Slow down now, slow down now Ivy. This is the taste of spring. I never have slowed down." This shows her need to continue and persevere through all she has been through. Ivy as a character goes through a lot in her life and by writing these letters and expelling all her feelings and emotions onto the paper she was able to find a sort of peace with her existence. How would you direct act one scene one of A Midsummer Nightââ¬â¢s Dream? Essay
Act one scene one of ââ¬Å"A Midsummer Nightââ¬â¢s Dreamâ⬠opens by portraying to us the situation between the four lovers. Shakespeare creates the subtle impression that they are perplexed group of people with no balance between them. This provides both comedy and tension throughout the play. The basic complexities between the parties are laid out during this opening scene. A major influence to the direction of this scene is the audienceââ¬â¢s perception of the different relationships. Shakespeare more than likely intended this scene to cause confusion as to who loves who, which in turn invites the audience formulate their own ideas. Naturally, the audience will want the four to form two couples instead of one confusing mess. To effectively portray this onstage, the four lovers should be proximate to the one that they love. This will cause a visual divide between the characters because not all of the lovers are happy with those who are in love with them. For example, if Demetrius went about following Hermia, she would continually walk away from him because she does not love him. To further emphasise the divide between the lovers that forms the basis of the first scene, I would direct Hermiaââ¬â¢s father Egeus to be very angry with Lysander. He would show this through body language such as thrusting his fists into the air, and tone of voice, which would be loud and harsh. This creates a tense atmosphere onstage and furthermore reinforces the confusion and disapproving dispositions of the characters onstage. The opening section of the first scene gives us the impression that there is confusion between who loves who, and this is obvious to the audience. Shakespeare also tells us that Demetrius once loved Helena, and this hints to the audience that it may happen again ââ¬â thus solving the ever tangled ââ¬Å"love quartetâ⬠. To show this to the audience, when Demetrius talks to Helena, they would often come close as if the rapport between them is very strong, then back away. The general body language of the two would show that there is still a chance of a reunion. By the time that Helena tells Demetrius of Lysander and Hermiaââ¬â¢s planned elopement, the audience are aware that if Demetrius did happen to fall in love with Helena again, all would be well. This makes the audience want them to get back together. In order to bring out the comedy in this scene, I would direct the lovers to be very serious: overly deep and preoccupied with their own feelings. The inflated characters taking the ludicrous situation seriously would be comical. The fact that they are selfish and are only concerned with their own feelings in this scene also adds to the comic value. They are funny, however, singularly ââ¬â they donââ¬â¢t involve relationships with any other character in order to be comical. Act one scene one is used to present the four lovers to us and describe their situation. Each of the four is presented in a different way, and depending on their direction is how the audience would perceive them. Shakespeare presents Helena as completely hung up about her looks. In order to show this, I would have Helena with too much make up on, possibly carrying a mirror and checking herself all the time. Her stage presence would show her as very flamboyant and very melodramatic in her movement, over exaggerating gestures in order to show her self-assured ââ¬Ëimportanceââ¬â¢. We know that she is anxious about her looks because of her nervous reaction when Lysander calls her ââ¬Å"fairâ⬠. Later on in the scene, Hermia becomes self-conscious about her height. It is her reaction to this that is comical. Firstly, she takes the jests very seriously. I would direct her to show this through facial expression, relaying to the audience her devastation. Secondly, she reacts by mocking Helena ââ¬â ââ¬Å"Thou painted maypoleâ⬠. These lines are intrinsically humorous, so using obvious angry facial expressions and perhaps grabbing each other as if to fight would bring out the comic value of the segment. Demetrius is willing to see Hermia executed to prevent her from marrying another man, and Lysander appears to think of himself as a hero in a love story: he is egotistical and pretentious. It is ironic that eh thinks of himself as heroic because he is in fact, the opposite. In order to show Lysanderââ¬â¢s naivety and contrast to Demetrius, I would direct him to appear less intelligent than the others. My dramatic intentions in this scene would be to present to the audience the confusion between the four lovers onstage in act one scene one. The main method I would use to do this would be to ensure a contrast between those that do not love each other, which would be shown through negative body language and stage positioning that portrays they do not want to be near each other.

Compare And Contrast The Gods In Ovid And The Aeneid
The main objective of the essay is to compare the roles of the gods as shown in Ovidââ¬â¢s book and Virgilââ¬â¢s book. The gods are perceived to be differently described in the two books and that makes the analysis of the gods in the essay to be conclusive. Ovid and Virgil are writers in the epic tradition but the way they treat gods in Aeneid and metamorphoses displays a difference. Aeneid was written between 29BC up to 19BC after the battle of Actium was fought in 31BC. The Aeneid was written as a celebration of the various achievements of Augustus and helps in rejoicing the development of Rome during that period of time. The book displays a lot of political propaganda as well as the history of the origin of the Roman people. Contrasted toâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The gods are also displayed in a more formal way which makes them be more awesome as well as mysterious in the book. The perception of the gods is able to bring the perspective that they are higher beings wh o find it worthless to interact with the humans. The gods in Aeneid are rare to appear in mortal characters as opposed to Ovidââ¬â¢s book whereby some of them can be able to appear in mortal characters. Venus in Aeneid is able to take herself as the Huntress when they met with Aeneas in order to tell him that he is in Carthage (Groves 326). Aeneas further realize that Venus was his mother. Comparing them with the Ovidian gods, the gods were perceived to be appearing in their normal forms and that made them interact freely (Ovid 42). Apollo, Venus, and mercury are some of the gods who are perceived to be appearing as themselves and that brought the perception of peace as well as it strongly highlights the informalities which were surrounding the various gods (Roman 258). In situations were the gods were not appearing in human forms, they were represented in animal forms. This can be shown by the way Jupiter appeared as a bull as shown in the book. Homer and Odyssey were considered to be the two main models of epic representations of the essay according to Ovid and Virgil in their work. There is a lot of influence specifically the Homeric influence when it came to the Virgilian gods. There is a significant difference in the treatment of the gods in the Aeneid and the Metamorphoses, even though both authors were writing in the epic tradition. Virgil wrote his Aeneid in the last ten years of his life, between 29BC and 19BC, after the Battle of Actium, in 31BC, which was significant, as it established Octavian as the sole emperor, Augustus, of Rome. The Aeneid is a celebration
